Waking up before the sun is even up is hardly ever in the plans for me… but this morning I was excited for it! The weather threatened to rain, get cloudy and cold… but I think God wanted us to see His glory and His promise before it started.
Isaiah 54:10
Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
My grandpa brought a message for our Easter service and it was beautiful as we all stood there in the sunshine as it rose! One of my favorite parts of his message was that God wants us to have such a close relationship with Him, closer than a father has with his son, closer than a husband and wife, closer than a brother. He wants all of you, every part, He wants that real relationship. As he spoke, I couldn’t help but think that as we hunger for God, He actually hungers for us! He’s so hungry for closeness, realness, truthfulness, transparency, and growth in a relationship. And that’s the way we should be with Him, too.
My dad often spoke in church through his messages and during worship about the closeness of God as “Get so close to God that you can literally feel His breath on your face.” I get caught up and a bit overwhelmed when I truly put myself there in my thoughts… I literally imagine myself on the lap of God and Him holding me, singing over me and us just spending time together. Feeling the breath of God wash over me and give me life.
I’m thankful today for the message that my grandpa brought. Thankful for Holy Spirit bringing remembrance to me of the time I spent in worship and how real God can be in our lives… Today I’m thankful for family and friends, all coming together for fellowship. And today I’m so thankful for Easter, Resurrection Sunday, as our family likes to say. So thankful for the gift that was given to us on Calvary, a priceless, truly amazing, un-comprehensible gift that was FREELY given.
Exodus 34:14, You must worship no other gods, for the LORD, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about His relationship with you.
Wow! He is so jealous for YOU!
Pretty awesome feeling isn’t it?
Hope you all have an amazing Resurrection Sunday!
Blessings,
A. Bell
